Dr. Zakaria earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Dentistry, then completed his Certificate of Periodontics and a Master of Dental Science degree at Indiana University School of Dentistry. That combination of general dental training and advanced periodontal specialization is what allows him to plan and perform both periodontal treatment and dental implant surgery under one roof.

Dr. Zakaria developed and has performed the Flapless Connective Tissue Graft technique for gum recession for close to two decades. Dr. Zakaria has invented, developed, and performed the Flapless Connective Tissue Graft (Minimally Invasive) for the last 17 years with a great rate of success and wonderful results. He employs Microsurgery Principles and Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques resulting in less pain, and swelling, and a higher success rate.
